It was a long one, over 1000 pages ... hence the time between posts.
Great second book in the series, a lot of twists and turns, surprises, dismay and excitement.
It is not only a war among kings, but also among religion and belief. And what about Winter that is coming and North of the Wall.
I am amazed how the author can keep all the characters straight and weave the stories, family ties, feuds and allegiances into an amazing tale that keeps you reading and reading.
I think my favourite characters are still the same - Tyrion, Jon Snow, Arya.
Daenerys continues on her adventure and finds new lands and interesting new characters to add to an already colourful cast! ( I am looking forward to seeing what they look like onscreen too!)
I really want to start Book 3, although I have a list of other books waiting patiently in line to be read.
Remember what I said about keeping a pen and pad of paper nearby?! It doesn't get easier.
ReplyDeleteHe doesn't seem to shy away from knocking characters off. Quite a few times, I re-read the last few pages because I thought I'd read wrong and couldn't believe so-and-so just got unceremoniously killed.
Still... A fantastic book as far as I'm concerned. Can't wait to see season 2 on the tube.
I saw the first episode last night!!
DeleteAnd I agree ... I am amazed at how he gets rid of characters ... then again, not many authors have the guts to do it!
