July Summer Reads

Great reading this month!  Here are the four books that I read this month:

1. And the Mountains Echoed - Khaled Hosseini - Literary Fiction
2. The Beggar King (Book #3 - Hangman's Daughter Series) - Oliver Potzsch - Historical Fiction
3. The Hit - David Baldacci - Political Thriller
4. The Cuckoo's Calling - Robert Galbraith (aka J.K. Rowling) - Murder Mystery

And the Mountains Echoed was my favourite read for the month.  This is by the same author who wrote The Kite Runner.   I have read three of his books and enjoyed all of them.    The Beggar King was a close second this month, and I recommend this series.   This is Book #3, and the next one was just released!

The Hit and The Cuckoo's Calling were both what I would call "Popular" reads.   Fast moving, easy summer reading.  I suspect The Cuckoo's Calling is the first in a series and will probably be made into a movie.

I hope you are enjoying the summer and getting some time to read too!
